MODERN NIGERIA AND EDUCATION!!!

Parents listen to your children, we are the leaders of tomorrow (hmmm)...try to pay our school fees and give us the best Education!!!. Most of us would remember this song from our primary school days. I in particular, with my long white socks, skin cut hairstyle (bald) and over-sized school uniform ....mehnnnn!!, I used to scream that song at assembly, believing in my heart that I was the future of Nigeria. Now each time this song comes in mind, it brings to reality the current situation of my country. I wonder, do they still sing this song anymore (giggles)??. Are we really the future of Nigeria?.

Once upon a time, were stories told to us by our parents of how they trekked, hawked and trained themselves through school because they knew the great importance of Education. I won't say people don't do that now but it is a very difficult task and would be too over bearing. The Nigeria government has frustrated the dreams of many youths and hopes of several parents. I say this because it now seems like they no longer have an interest in Education or the Talents of the youths (although some entertainers are trying in this section not government). I keep hearing words like "The standard of Education has fallen" and  "The youths are no longer focused",NO...that's not true, we are simply not motivated as before because we are scared of our future. We find ourselves struggling in school, same as those who has graduated.

Imagine a Government cutting out almost all Educational expenses, sending back its students who were abroad back home with reasons that they can't afford to pay for their education any longer ( but can afford to pay millions of dollars for luxury cars), increasing the cost of a Federal university fee. Therefore, making it difficult for poor determined parents to train his/ her child to higher education. Students who are out of the country studying, are expected to pay their school fees at 'whatever' conversion rate and if they can't afford it.....well!!!. Talent isn't encouraged as well, imagine the embarrassing incident on the part of the Government during this 2016 Olympics (No financial support, wrong national anthem, even calling Nigeria...'United states of Nigeria'....Haba na).

Why won't a struggling youth want to leave Nigeria and go invest his/her talent and educational experience somewhere else. Somewhere it is appreciated, a place with good job security and where his/her options and Ideas isn't waved aside for the fact that, " he/she is a youth, thus what does he/she knows about life".

When will Nigeria restore their lost faith in us youths?.
When will Nigeria invest in their youths?.
When will Nigeria realize we are the future of tomorrow?.
Will Nigeria Government make education a priority once again?.

So many questions pondering in my head as I write this post, what do you guys think about the current situation of Nigeria, is there still hope for us?. Let's make the comment section interesting. THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT ONCE AGAIN!
