STRIPED PANTS...

HI guys...Hope I am not missed much. School has been hectic for a while and mhennn, my oncology class has been no joke. This was an Outfit, I wore some weeks back to church but was unable to edit the post until now. My love for wide legged pants is out of this world, I just love how free and comfortable their materials are!!
This outfit can be easily converted into a casual one by simply taking off the blazer and throwing on a pair of flat sandals (optional). Striped pants are essentials in a girl's wardrobe (trust me), they have a way of elongating a persons legs thus making one appear tall......This is one staple for a short girl like me (I'm 5,6"feet) lolzz.

Outfit details
Striped pants from Defacto
Sandals are Spurr from Lamoda(sorry a clear picture of sandals isn't available)
Bag is Chanel inspired(yes, FAKE!!)
Blazer was thrifted (bought a while ago)
White vest is simply Men's BYC in medium
Jewelries from Defacto
Makeup by me
Hair by Ronke

I shared details of my current hair style on a previous blog post 'Click here' to take you directly to post. How would you have styled this pant? Would you have wore this differently.....Comments are welcome on the blog below. Feel free to share blog, if need be.

Thanks for visiting the blog once more, Stay blessed XOXO.

MAKEUP SERIES "01"

I was opportune to play makeup on these beautiful girls faces. Makeup is something I do for fun (it is never that serious to me), I am in no way a makeup artist and won't name myself that (No offence), I am just a lady who believes everything worth doing.....is worth doing good. I have an hidden love for makeup (not so hidden, I guess lolzz) and I love to look good....Long story short....I am a girly girl!!

About makeup looks
1st look- My friend 'Mildred' by name went for a smokey eye and matte nude lips, I really enjoyed doing her makeup. She trusted me with her face and made playtime fun for me. I also made her hair and I can boldly say, I was proud of myself(winks).

2nd look- 'Ellen' made the makeup process real fun...I tell you!! She wanted a simple but bold look with a touch of gold and surprisingly added a pair of medium lashes.I wish I could describe perfectly her level of excitement, on seeing herself(smiles).

1st look

2nd look

Hope you guys enjoyed this, I am open to any makeup suggestion on the blog. Feel free to follow and subscribe to the blog.XOXO.

7 WAYS TO STYLE FAUX LOCS..

Are you one of those people that gets bored of an hairstyle just because you don't know what more to do with it or you are tired of having the same look, sweethearts.....you are not alone!! I am one of those people who gets bored of an hairdo easily but darlings on this occasion, I have no other option but to try maintain this hairstyle for a while (I hate making my hair....Mhennn, the pain!!).
On this very day, in the comfort of my room. I thought to myself different ways, I could wear my hair and look glamorous at the same time. Surprisingly, I was able to come about with more than One (winks) and that led to the creation of this post. Do enjoy and I hope, I was of help to you guys(kisses). Which of these looks are you favorite? Comments are welcome, in the comment section below #THANKS

About my Faux locs

This hair was made by a friend "Ronke" by name. It took me two days to finish this hair because I couldn't stand the pain or the long sitting hours (I have a very sensitive scalp and was used to making my hair by myself). I used 6 packs of kinky hair(or maybe more), this hair needs little maintenance and would be great for one, who has little to no time, sitting to get her hair done.
Makeup by me.

  1. The Grown look.
  2. The Basic/Simple look.
  3. The Rugged look.
  4. The Sophisticated look.
  5. The Girlie look.
  6. It's Mohawk darlings.
  7. The Confident look.

     1. THE GROWN LOOK
This is a look for those that aren't bothered about hair length, heat, and fly aways. I say it is a grown look because letting any kind of braids down, has a way of changing a persons face. I simply parted my hair by the side, puffed a side up and directed all locs to the left side of my neck (preferably any side). This look would be great for a classy date night, meetings or worn with clothes that show a lot of skin.

     2. THE BASIC/SIMPLE LOOK
This is my favorite look (covers face) I know, I know....I am just a lazy one, when it comes to styling my hair. This hair style is so so simple!!. All I did was divide my hair into two halves horizontally and pack the front section (simple right?). This look is very school appropriate, effortless looking and stylish at the same time. This can be worn anywhere.

    3.THE RUGGED LOOK
Yes Babes!!!....A little crazy isn't going to hurt no one. Not everyone would want to leave a little bun in the middle and front of their head but I tell you, it is worth it. This look screams confidence and elevates a persons look. This can be worn to school, church, weddings name it.

   4.  THE SOPHISTICATED LOOK
I know my mum would love this, she would be like "Yes my daughter, you see how decent and beautiful this style makes you look. pack everything jare....Haba!!(laughs)". Funny right? but true. This look speaks elegance, it is great for church, workplace or for times when you don't want hair touching your shoulders but be-careful, since this style is kinda plain, it draws attention to your outfit (winks).

    5. THE GIRLIE LOOK
This is another favorite of mine, I just love how playful this makes one look (not everyday serious). I divided my hair into two halves horizontally, then proceeded to divide the front section into equal halves vertically. The front halves, I rolled into buns and packed the one behind. This look can be worn with a casual outfit and it would make a statement, I tell you (smiles).

   6. IT'S MOHAWK DARLINGS
Who said locs can't be styled into Mohawk?....you see it can dear!! I divided my hair in three sections this time around, the front section was puffed up and the 2nd section was packed together with the 1st(front part) and that was it. This style can be worn selectively to almost all events.

   7. THE CONFIDENT LOOK
This is same as "THE GIRLIE LOOK" but with a slight difference. I brought the second half of the hair forward and parted it, to the sides of my neck.

I hope you had a nice time reading this post. Stay blessed and feel free to subscribe to the blog XOXO.

END OF SUMMER...

So the summer has finally come to an end. I sure miss you, dear summer!!! I miss not having to wear tons of clothing, just to protect myself from cold. I miss seeing bright colored outfits from people on the streets and children jumping and running on playgrounds. Anyways, the heat is gone!!...entering buses in the summer isn't something I look forward to...Mhennnnn, don't these people sweat? closed bus windows, wearing thick jackets under the heat and the body odor( I can't comprehend).
This outfit is one that screams summer, the color and style. It can be worn to various events and even in the cold weather, it could be layered up for a more protective coverage.

Outfit details

Gown (moments)
Shoes from Lamania(Lamoda)

CARROT STEW!!!

I was inspired by my Ghanaian male friend(Sadat) to try out this recipe, This among many of his numerous dish is one of my favorite. I felt challenged to try this meal out, after watching how effortless he made this meal in his kitchen ( some guys can cook sha..). Nevertheless, I made my own twist to the recipe by making it a lot more spicy (winks). This meal has a lot of nutritive benefits as the vitamin A in carrot is activated, which helps improves vision and protects the skin from damage by fighting against aging factors, infections and even cancer. Carrot is also said to reduce cholesterol level, protects teeth and gums and also prevent stroke (so many nutritive value right?).

If one root vegetable can do so much, why not incorporate it into our meals? without saying much , let us get cooking, shall we? (smiles).

Yield : About 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken(cleaned, chopped,spiced and cooked)
  • Chicken stock (water from the seasoned chicken)
  • Stemmed tomato fruits and pepper (blended and stemmed)
  • 8 roots of carrot (blended with a little water and oils)
  • 2 roots of carrot (chopped in circular form)
  • 2 Onions (diced into small sizes)
  • Olive oil/vegetable oil
  • 1/4 Tbsp of curry
  • 2 Maggi cubes (chicken flavor)
  • 1/4 Tbsp of salt
  • 1 Tbsp of dried grounded chilli pepper
  • 2 gloves of garlic (may be cooked with chicken)
  • Ginger (may be cooked with chicken)
  • A pinch of dried rosemary leaves (or thyme)

Directions

Required amount of oil is added to a non-stick pot on medium heat. The oil is left to heat up  after which the chopped up onions is added and left to cook till, it turns translucent. Steamed tomatoes is added and stirred with the onions for about 5 minutes (the cooker can be increased), add in the blended carrots and cover pot lid for 8 minutes (to let the carrot juice dry up, stirring every 2 minutes).

Add the chicken stock in the pot, add in curry, dried rosemary leaves, salt, dried chilli pepper and Maggi to taste. Cover pot lid for 5 minutes or less ( allowing the sauce to dry a little, stir every 2 munutes). Add chopped carrots and the cooked seasoned meat (you can fry the chicken, if you want). Cover pot lid and let stew cook for 3 more minutes. VIOLA.....food is ready!!

This stew can be served with rice, spag or yam and a glass of red wine or juice. If you tried out the recipe, you can let me know by dropping comments on the comment section below⬇. Thanks for stopping by๐Ÿ˜™๐Ÿ˜šXoXo..

VERIFIED SIDECHIC!!!

Are mature responsible men so hard to find?, I know the population ratio of female to male is high but so?...This is something that has got me thinking for a while now, I may not be mature enough to understand the dating world but I tell you, it's quite embarrassing to hear the words that comes out of some females mouth. If you have ever entered a public transport or opportune to help a relative in the market place, you would understand where I'm coming from!!.
   You would hear statements like:

  • The man get wife so what?, she neva born for am sef (pidgin).....meaning> The man has a wife, what difference does it make, when she doesn't have a child for him.
  • The wife no sabi cook oooo, he love my food (pidgin)....meaning>  His wife doesn't know how to cook, he enjoys my food more.
  • He say he wife no sabi bedmatics, na my own him prefer (pidgin)....meaning>  He said his wife isn't good in bed, I'm better.
  • Once I carry belle, he go leave him wife for me (pidgin)....meaning> He would leave his wife for me, eventually I get pregnant.
  • The man wife no get him time, na me be him handbag (pidgin)....meaning>  His wife is a very busy woman and doesn't have time for her husband, he takes me everywhere.
  • He say he no love him wife (pidgin)....meaning> He said that he doesn't love his wife.
  • I be dey date am before he marry her (pidgin)...meaning> I used to date him, before he got married.
  • The wife no dey respect the man, na me love am pass (pidgin)..meaning> His wife has little or no respect for him, I love him more.

Shocking right?... Funny but true!! What happened to our self respect as women? This doesn't happen to just married couples alone, even in the dating/courting world, we hear funny stories of girlfriends pouring acids on another female (in the name of 'fighting for her man') and wives beating up the side chic in question.  What happened to the time of our mothers, when both females ends up 'dealing with' the man, upon discovery of the games played on them......but NO!!! Things don't play like that anymore because now, some sidechics think they have absolute right to claim the man in question.

For some of us that may not understand what I mean by the term "SIDECHIC", let me go futher and  explain....A sidechic is a female, who is in a sexual/affectionate relationship with a man who is already in a certified relationship (whether married or courting). Some of you would be wondering, why I added the word 'verified' to sidechic (smiles). A "VERIFIED SIDECHIC" is one who knows of the man current relationship status but isn't scared to be involved in any form of relations with him because she lacks self respect for herself, doesn't have the fear of God in her, sees the other female as little threat and she's a selfish one, who prefers only the output of relationships.

In as much as the 'sidechic' is frowned upon in our society, they exist. These are ladies, mothers pray for their sons not to come in contact with, wives spend hours praying about because their shameless act flow with all form of evil........and their action comes from excuses of a bad breakup, rapes, lack of attention from parents, bad experience(so payback!) or from them been abandoned as kids. Some ladies do like watered grass, they tend to go after their friends boyfriends because the friend looks happy in her relationship and want that same happiness from that same man for herself (scary right?)

The 'verified sidechic' is a female who is looking for love and attention so bad, she does not mind fighting another woman, forgoing her pride and shame just to get what she emotionally craves for. Funny enough, such confidence and boldness must have come from the sweet words she recieves from the man in question.

Who is to blame for the outburst of a sidechic?
The man who encouraged the relationship?
The female who agreed to date a married, or engaged man?
The wife who is not able to satisfy her husbands needs(unknowingly)?

DISEASES YOU CAN CONTACT THROUGH KISSING!!!

I came across this interesting health topic on a friend's blog and felt it nice to share with you guys. Feel free to visit his blog THECLINIQ, comments are welcome in the comment section below.

FEATURED POST

You could be putting yourself in great danger of a deadly disease by engaging in a kiss with someone especially people you don't know so well.
You may have heard that the mouth is the dirtiest place in the body, this is because saliva contains numerous microorganisms. Human bites are said to be more dangerous than a dog bite, as it contains more bacteria says the CDC. Worldwide there are billions of kisses exchanged by people each year. The air kiss, casual peck on the cheek or the cultured kiss on the hand aren't much of a threat but a kiss that exchanges saliva from one another is a different matter.

Viruses  that can be transmitted by kissing

COLDS: many viruses cause the common cold. It can spread by direct contact  with the virus, from airborne droplets or from direct contact with secretions from the infected person's nose and throat.

INFECTIOUS MONONUCLEOSIS: also known as kissing disease is caused by Epstein Barr Virus. The virus is spread through saliva and infection occurs through contact.

HERPES INFECTION: includes varicella zoster (causes chicken pox) and herpes simplex (cold sores on the mouth). Herpes is easily spread to others when cold sores blisters are forming or  have erupted. The virus is transmitted from the site of blisters even when they have healed. So, can you get herpes from kissing: yes!!.

HEPATITIS B: kissing may also transmit this virus even though it may be contained in higher levels in blood. Infection can occur when infected blood and saliva comes into direct contact with someone else's bloodstream or mucous membrane. A person may be easily infected if they have sores in and around the mouth.

WARTS: these can be spread through kissing especially, if in case of recent trauma.

HAND,FOOT & MOUTH DISEASE: this is caused by coxsackie virus and is spread through open sores in the mouth. this infection is common in kids especially those in day care. It is spread via fecal oral route (maybe while changing  diapers)

Bacteria that can be transmitted by kissing

MENINGOCOCCAL DISEASE: this is a life threatening condition which includes meningitis, (inflammation of the membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord) and septicemia. Studies show that deep kissing seems to be one of the risk factors.

TOOTH DECAY: numerous studies indicate that streptococcus mutans, the main bacteria implicated with caries is transmissible. Direct contact occurs most commonly via kissing. Indirect contact occurs though shared contaminated objects such as eating utensils, toothbrushes, cups  and even toys.

GUM DISEASE (GINGIVITIS):  The American academy of periodontology says more than 75% of adults over 35 have some form of gum disease. Since gum disease are considered the equivalent of open wounds, kissing or having oral sex when you and your partner have bleeding gums in an invitation for the transmission of unwanted organisms.

There is no need to give up kissing, while disease causing bugs can be transferred during a kiss, most won't cause the disease and the risk of serious disease is small BUT it may happen and it's not all bad. Research into passionate kissing has uncovered many valuable health benefits. For those who are calorie conscious a 60 second kiss burns 26 calories.
Be conscious to keep your mouth as healthy and germ free as possible everyday. Make sure your partner takes preventive actions too, so that ypu can both enjoy those smooches. Also, don't forget your pet!! When your beloved pet welcomes you home, slobbering your face with kisses, he is also gifting you his germs. Don't forget to keep his/her mouth healthy too. check your partner and always go for screening.

What are your thoughts about this? Let us know in the comment section below and please visit my friends blog The Cliniq Blog for more related topics. Thanks XOXO.

STUFFED BELL PEPPERS!!!

So... I thought to myself, what if bell peppers are stuffed up instead of being diced up (rhyme right ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚?). This meal is great and perfect for a night out with friends and family. The structure of bell peppers makes serving this dish easier,  as it serves as a hold for the fillings and regulates portion size automatically. This colorful and appetizing meal can be made in less than 30 minutes,  if most items have been prepped. Trust me, when I say this meal was delicious๐Ÿ‘… and filling...ENJOY!!!

Yield: 3 servings

Ingredients

3 bell peppers ( colors of choice), the tops should be cut off.
Tops of cut bell peppers are diced up into small sizes.
Tomato pasta (mixed with pepper, salt, maggi) or Ketchup.
1 onion, minced into small sizes.
Minced beef meat.
Chicken breast chopped into tiny bits.
Cold cooked rice (2 handfuls).
Olive oil.
An egg.
Cheese.
Curry powder.
Thyme leaves.
1/4 Tbsp of salt.
1/4 Tbsp of chilli pepper.
1 cube of Maggi ( chicken flavor).

Directions

On a non-stick pan with cooker set on medium heat, pour in little amount of Olive oil (about 2 and a half Tbsp). Add in the minced onions, stir till translucent ( 2 minutes) then add the minced meat and chopped chicken breast ( stir till it turns brown and drain out excess oil).

Add in the chopped bits of bell peppers  (the tops), egg, rice, chilli pepper, curry, thyme, salt and Maggi to taste.....Stir Rice till color changes to golden brown and appears fried.

Put the prepped bell peppers in a microwave for 30 seconds (optional). Fill in the bell peppers with the prepared fried rice, add the tomato paste/ketchup on top and pop in a pre-heated oven of 230°c for 3 minutes. Take out the stuffed peppers and add cheese of choice as the last layer, pop back in the oven for 5 minutes (optional). .....Viola!!! Food is ready๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰.

Meal can be served with grilled chickens, sauces meat and a glass of white wine or soft drink....ENJOY!!!
